Despite rumours that I am the secret love child of Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman, I was actually born, the third of four kids to loving parents Robb and Alinda in central western NSW, Australia. Growing up in Dubbo, on a small farm gave me a love of nature, an appreciation for open spaces, and a dream of moving to the city as soon as possible. A dream I fulfilled at the end of 1999.
Moving to Sydney, I completed an apprenticeship in detailed joinery and dabbled at a little rugby before meeting the girl of my dreams and dropped everything to do whatever it took to make her the wife. Yyyyeeewwwwww! I have always loved music, being heavily influenced by my dad’s love of musicals; I have always loved the way that a song can communicate on so many more levels than any other form of communication. It’s this that inspires me as a song writer, to entertain isn’t enough but I want to move the person listening and interpreting what they are hearing. It’s also just bloody good to have something that grooves you with friends. Originally a jazz trombonist my influences extend from the tunes I grew up on, from John Farnham to Tower of Power, Muse to Vex Red, Mutemath and Tonic right through to Sarah McLachlan and just about everything in between. I love life and chasing my dreams, I love travelling and have written a couple of the songs on my EP in both the Philippines and around Europe. Travelling is always such an adventure and I’m probably the only person in the world that gets excited about airplane food. It’s just so exciting and it comes in its own little packages and you never know what you’re going to get until you open it…... So exciting! My music is for you, I hope it moves you, I hope it inspires you, and I hope that you always have fun whenever you listen to it wherever you are. Tim ♪♫ |
